With the exception of the fish tanks that sit in Grossman's Deli, you would never guess that this sandwich shop had its beginnings as a seafood market when it was opened in 1970. At the time, the business shared a space with a butcher, and when the butcher moved out, Grossman's took over his cold cuts and sandwiches business. Owner Dirk Grossman said the deli dropped the seafood market part of its business 15 years ago and now sells products, including homemade rye bread and hard rolls, which customers can either take out or eat in a self-service dining room.
