Most people come to Green Meadows for the specials -- coming, that is, from quite a distance. And they've been making the drive since 1954. Out-of-towners become regulars in what was once the roughest place in Monmouth County. It's come a long way from the shot-and-a-beer joint of the 1950s; now you can order roasted duck with a red wine or slam back two fingers in memory of the old ghosts.
