Lost In Society
Fans poured into the Brighton Bar on Thursday, Nov. 4 for the second round of the Metromix BreakThru live competition series. With a solid lineup of local talent -- Darouge, Our Last Sin, The Choices, Lost In Society, and Los Pocos Locos, each band put forth incredible effort, backed by a frenzy of fist-raising, mosh-pitting fans.
Although the competition featured fierce talent all around, Our Last Sin brought an energy all its own, capturing the attention of the judges and dozens of dedicated fans. Their 30-minute set included the super-catchy hit "Sick of You" and the band's most popular single, "Fear Me" in which lead singer Eric Deaver stopped the music and lead the crowd into a shouting sing-a-long of "Fire Water Burn" by the Bloodhound Gang. Our Last Sin will be moving on to the finals in March.
"When I get off the phone I'm going to jump up and down, run up and down the stairs, and I may even run naked up and down the street with my tounge hanging out!" says Kimmee Masi, drummer and backing vocals of Our Last Sin, when notified of their win.
Runner-up band who will be moving onto the wildcard round in February for one more shot at advancing to the finals is Lost In Society, the alt-punk outfit from Asbury Park. The hard-rocking, crowd pleasing trio lit the stage on fire, and really brought a new intensity to the night.
The show was rounded out with heavy-hitting rockers Darouge, the fierce punk trio The Choices, and Latin-surf rockers Los Pocos Locos.
You can catch the next Metromix BreakThru live competition series on Thursday, Dec. 2 at The Brighton Bar.
