Lost in Society
After nearly five months, the Metromix BreakThru has seen some of the most diverse, talented and dedicated bands New Jersey has to offer. A band that exemplifies this is Lost In Society, the Asbury Park-based alt-punk trio and winners of the Wildcard round, which was held Thursday, Feb. 3 at the Brighton Bar in Long Branch.
Performing for the first time in the Metromix BreakThru on Nov. 4, Lost In Society brought a vicious and real energy to the night, which won them a spot in the Wildcard round. This gave the band one more chance to perform for our judges in hopes of making it to the finals. And that they did. Packing the Brighton Bar from wall to wall, their mosh-pitting fans poured in the venue to see the boys in action. With an unmatched energy, Lost In Society owned the stage.
"They had the best sound of the night and has what it takes to win," said competition judge Chris Van Orten, manager of Jack's Music Shoppe in Red Bank.
Almost There lined up right behind LIS in score, putting on a memorable and fun show. Their musicianship and charisma did not go unnoticed. Reverse Order and Hyla Brook also brought captivating performances and their own group of dedicated fans.
The Metromix BreakThru finals will be held at the Brighton Bar on Thursday, March 3. Shredding it out for a $30,000 prize package will be Carpet Ride, Our Last Sin, End of an Era, Matt Wade, and Lost In Society. The show is FREE. 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink.
