"Asbury, as I say, has a certain sound to it, and unfortunately, or fortunately, whatever way you're looking at it, that's really where a lot of my roots lie. ...But, it's not vanilla and chocolate. I think what Jersey offers is a hundred billion flavors, you know, and a crossover where somebody can come in and order pistachio with a peanut butter cup on top. People cross their flavors.
"To me, the Asbury I know is the old Asbury sound, and that still lives on, and I think that's the best description as far as how I see it. I think it's got a little bit of the New York flavor, but I think it's got a rootsiness to it, and I hope it always stays there. There's more integrity and more honesty in the Jersey Shore sound."
