"You know what? I was thinking of this: You're right on the beach. The energy of the ocean brings happiness. If you're sad, or if you're down, you go to the ocean by yourself, or with your family, with your friends, and there's something that changes. Anytime you're in nature, something changes in you, but especially on the ocean. ... The spirit of the ocean and the freedom of that is really something important that you kind of don't think (about) because nature really speaks through the artists.
"The artists listen to nature, the artists' listen to the voice of God or whatever you want to call nature, or the source, or creator, or creation, and I think that comes out through the music -- good times, good vibes, happiness, and really not such a dark energy. There's not a lot of dark energy happening in the music of the Jersey Shore."
