Tricks and treats from Little Steven this Halloween

Listen up, all you hip cats: if you're looking for the ultimate tunes to groove to this Halloween, Little Steven has got you covered. 

Musician, songwriter, arranger, "The Sopranos" co-star, "Underground Garage" radio host and Jersey guy Little Steven Van Zandt has concocted a devilishly cool compilation of Halloween tunes, "Halloween A Go-Go," out now on his Wicked Cool Records label. 

"You will find yourself dancing with the devil, laughing in the face of the apocalypse, transported to the mystic forests of your deepest darkest secrets and insatiable lusts and shocked by the helplessness of your own confessions of the sacred and the profane," said Van Zandt in a statement heralding the album's release. "But afterward, if you live, one fact above all with remain clear -- now you will learn why you fear the night!" 

With selections ranging from relatively well-know cuts (Bruce Springsteen's "Restless Nights" and "Walking with a Ghost" by Tegan and Sara) to underground cult favorites ("I Walked with a Zombie" by Roky Erickson and the Aliens), throwing on this compilation should result in an incredibly hip haunting this Halloween. 

And, unlike a lot of seasonal discs, it seems the primary motivation behind this set was picking great songs, making it an album you should be able to return to time and again year-round.
