A Golden Globes nomination for Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus could be a good fit for the HBO political comedy, which features her as Vice President Selina Meyer.

"The Golden Globes has an international audience (and) an international appeal. We're in the middle of (shooting) Season 2, and, in fact, the show takes on international issues this season, so it seems to fit one right after the other," she says from a Maryland military base where the show is filming.

Louis-Dreyfus, a Globes and Emmy winner, is appreciative of the latest recognition and hopes it will introduce more viewers to Veep, which will return in the spring.

"That was a great surprise. You never know what can happen. Our show was on so long ago. I'm just thrilled we were remembered," she says. "I think it's very meaningful for the show, particularly given that we were a freshman series with a limited number of episodes. It's a testament to the writing of the show and the creators behind the show."
