I don't know, Chilly... most blockbusters ARE pretty terrible, after all... but that box office status didn't hurt Titanic or The Return of the King. With WALL-E and Dark Knight - two blockbusters that are decidedly not terrible - the issue may be that animated films and comic book adaptations face a perhaps unfairly uphill climb (comedies, too, for that matter... Robert Downey, Jr. notwithstanding).

Nothing at all for Clint Eastwood and his Gran Torino? I hate the fact that The Reader is in Best Picture running while stuff like Wall-E and The Dark Knight are not simply because they are blockbusters.
