Overrated--Only thing consistent there is the disappointing food. :(

I really really wanted this place to be good. When they first opened, I was one of their first customers and was very excited to try the food. Totally disappointed. Since then, the two boneheads working the front door, who have seen my face about thirty times, always mess up my reservation/don't say hello like they recognize me/make me wait/seat walk-ins. I have spent a lot of money in there, but this is the last straw, I'm done. The service is literally a joke, right down to the bartenders, it's really unbelievable. Total disappointment. :(

What "Vacation Cuisine" REALLY means...
By PBubblegum from Asbury Park, May 22, 2009

Their slogan says it all: "Vacation Cuisine". Meaning, order your food - go on vacation - then PERHAPS by the time you return from vacation your meal might be ready. But don't expect the wait staff to remember to bring it to you. The atmosphere is great and the menu creative. But it doesn't make up for the lack of good and friendly service.

We've gone to Langosta about 10 times, each time hoping it would improve, but have given up after our last experience. We waited 45 minutes for our food (WITH a reservation and the place was half empty). When I inquired about our food I was given a smart ass answer with a smart ass smirk. Meanwhile tables that filled up after our arrival were all served before us.

We've moved our eating and drinking down the boardwalk to Stella Marina - excellent service and better food.

A divine experience

I've never wrote a review for a restaurant before but in this case I felt compelled. My girlfriend and I wanted to go somewhere new. We got what we asked for...the ambiance excellent in a casual comforting way. The food superb I love the fact that they have an extensive food and drink menu. The service is excellent and heartwarming. I only have one scrutinizing disappointment their bathroom needs to be tended to although we love the floors the bathroom wasn't clean. Overall I had a great and lovely experience. I'll definitely go back again.

Local from NYC

Been living in New York and visiting Asbury Park the past few years. Its amazing about the changes there and this new restaurant we ended up in on the boardwalk was my biggest surprise yet. The ambiance was unexpectedly beautiful yet not pretentious. The menu was what they call vacation cuisine and when I read that I totally got what Langosta Lounge is all about. Kind of leave your world behind and enjoy something different. The staff were charming and attentive but like pros on an island. The menu even said "no worries" and that's the kind of place it is. Good food, good drinks and you feel taken care of.

Langosta Lounge is the SPOT

First tried Langosta Lounge on Valentine's Day. It was great to see a new Asbury business packed! It wasn't event summer! The restaurant was COMPLETELY FULL but we had a reservation and got sat almost immediately. Service was wonderful and everyone was attentive. Ambience was great! Finally a place where it isn't your run of the mill decor, music or food. I had a great patte appetizer....nothing I've every seen offered around the Jersey Shore before. My dirty martini was great too! My boyfriend had the Paella and loved it! We finished off the evening with a vegan chocolate jalapeno cake that was awesome! We hung out til after midnight...great, relaxing vibe once the restaurant stared to die down. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique restaurant and bar. Make a reservation though because it fills up quickly...looks like it will be crazy busy this summer!

Seductive

A wonderful new restauarant on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. I have been there several times for dinner or just drinks. The food is great, the menu is inventive, and there's an extensive cocktail and wine list. Love the cuban fried olives and the skirt steak.

My favorite new restaurant
By bobpenny from Jersey Shore, March 9, 2009

Before hitting the Stone Pony on Valentines day (coincidently my spouses birthday), we made a reservation for dinner here. Despite this being a very busy night, the staff made a great effort to accomodate four of us for dinner. The waitress was helpfull without being overbearing, and was a very gracious, proffesional young woman. The Ceasar salad was one of the best I ever had, and the main menu was offering a wonderful variety of food. It was a shame I could only pick one. The wine list (though we stuck to beers) was priced as a wine list should be; over grog shop prices, but not overpriced by any means. The whole experience was wonderful. This place is obviosly well run and the chef has a wonderful imagination. My only complaint (if I had to think of one) was that one of the appitisers was held up for about ten minutes. A small oversight by the kitchen.
I will deffinately return as this has to be one of the best places to eat in the area, and is priced to attract!
