The Quelle at Dutchman's Brauhaus

This seasonal outdoor bar is part of the Dutchman's Brauhaus, a long-popular German and American restaurant on Cedar Bonnet Island, just off the causeway to Long Beach Island.

The popular, laid-back spot draws all types, from fishermen to party-going vacationers, and has a devoted following of local regulars and a staff of good-humored bartenders who'll quickly learn your name and your drink of choice.

The Quelle has a covered main bar, with open sides that let in plenty of summer breezes -- and allow smokers to light up. There's also an open-air deck with great views of Barnegat Bay and LBI, plus moorings if you want to come by boat. There's a limited bar menu with some tasty offerings, like clams on the half shell and bratwurst, and several German (and other) beers on tap.

Be forewarned: the bar only accepts cash; there is an ATM available, however.
