Chico's House of Jazz

Local jazz-lovers, take note: Chico's House of Jazz is the place you want to be.

Located on Lake Avenue in Asbury Park and just a stone's throw from Cookman Avenue and nearby Ocean Grove, Chico's is ready to bring classic jazz to the heart of Asbury Park's bustling arts scene.

According to the club's Web site, Chico's is Charles "Chico" Rouse Jr.'s tribute to the legacy of his father, a musician best known for his work as a tenor saxophone player alongside jazz legend Thelonious Monk.

Chico's also boasts a menu with items such as the the Charlie Rouse Special (a sausage and shrimp gumbo), the Mingus (a cold sandwich with smoked turkey, salami, gouda, apple, red onion and chipolte mayo) and Herbie Hancock apple pie.
